About Marguerite Thorne

Marguerite is a singer/songwriter and private music teacher. She and her sister Annette have recently recorded a collection of 8 original Italian songs - "Dolci Momenti".

She grew up in Cape Breton singing a variety of music on radio and in concert with a family group of five sisters. She went on to receive her degree in music from Western. Later in Toronto she sang an eclectic mix of music from Bach's Coffee Contata, early music, celtic, opera and a smidgen of musical theatre and lounge work.

She lives in the 1000 Islands with her husband and children. Since moving to this area she has done solo concerts to co-incide with the local Art Colony tours, written and recorded a variety of music: christian contemporary - "Back to the Garden" 1995, had a commercial on CHRI Ottawa for 15 years and recorded a song for Brockville's 175th birthday (by Peter Liardi).

A lot of singers express the fact that they got their start in the Church choir. Well Marguerite hopes to finish here as well. Most of her musical life has been centered around church music and family. Her inspiration and heart are at home here.
